Calvin has been coaching junior tennis players for over 20 years including sectionally and nationally ranked players. Calvin was a highly ranked junior and played #1 singles all four years while at St. Mary’s High School in Stockton. While attending St. Mary’s and won SJAA singles league title twice. Calvin played Division 1 NCAA tennis at University of Nevada and Long Beach State. At Long Beach State he played under NCAA coach of the year Peter Smith. He has held National rankings in the top 3 in the Men’s 35 and over division. Recently he was ranked #2 in the Men’s 40 and over division in Northern California and won a National event and Sectional title. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Communications from Long Beach State. Calvin lives in Brentwood with his wife Mariel. He has four children, Tanner 12, Grace 9, Mia 5, and Emiliana 3. Calvin is very excited about the opportunity to Coach the Granada High team and the process of building the program.
