Starting TODAY and ending on April 14th we’re having an online Titlewish fundraiser. 100% of the money we raise will go directly to purchasing new materials for our school library!

We’re asking you to participate and help us raise $5,000. We’re going to use this money to purchase non-fiction books for our school library. Though our fiction collection is in better shape, our non-fiction collection is outdated and could use some fresh, useful books. We will focus our purchases on books related to topics we know students are researching and on popular areas of our collection that need updating. The average price of a library book is $13.00, and we would be so grateful if you would consider donating enough money to purchase a book or two.

To help us meet our goal, please visit http://www.titlewish.com/1090738

and click the Donate button.

Thank you for helping us provide Granada High School students with the best education possible! Our students deserve relevant, exciting books in their school library.

Tri-Valley Writers (a branch of the non-profit California Writers Club) has launched the sixth annual High School Writing Contest, "My Story, My Vision."  The contest is open to all students in grades 9-12 who attend school in Livermore, Dublin, Pleasanton, San Ramon or Danville. Submissions of poems, short stories or non-fiction essays will be accepted through April 9.

The California Writers Club (CWC) aims to mentor new writers and provide literary support for writers and the writing community through education and leadership.  Students who enter the high school contest will receive feedback from CWC judges and are invited to attend the award ceremony on May 21. The top three winners in each category will also receive cash awards.

All students who enter will receive a valuable writing experience, whether they win an award or not. The contest has been well received by students in the past, and the CWC is hoping to make this year's contest the most successful one yet. Information and entry instructions are available at their website.
